In honor of the 90th Anniversary of the Miss America Organization, Kaitlin shares her favorite Miss New York moment and reflects on how the Miss America Organization is helping make an impact on lives.
Miss America is the leading provider of scholarships for women in the world, making over $45 million available each year in educational support. Participants within the Miss America system are actively involved in making meaningful impacts in their communities through platform advocacy.
DAN'S COFFEE
This film is from a series of shorts done in 2010 by director Daniel Strehlau.
Daniel Strehlau is a Polish filmmaker and founder of the Warsaw Jewish Film Festival and KOLNOA-Isreali Film Festival. His work has recieved international recognition including consideration for Oscar Nomination by the Academy Awards commitee for his 2004 piece "Not Enough". He recieved recognition from Pope John Paul II for his documentary on the history of Jewish culture in Warsaw.
THE SEAGULL
A scene from Act IV of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, performed in New York City as part of a festival featuring Chokhov's greatest works.
The Seagull was written in 1894 and is considered one of Chekhov's primary four works. The story follows the romantic and artistic conflicts of it's four main characters, including young ingenue Nina. In this scene, Nina returns to face her longtime love.

MUSICAL MONTAGE FROM THE HOLE
Performed Off-Broadway at the Theater at St. Clements in fall of 2010, The Hole is a new musical comedy, with book by Joey Murray and music by Rob Baumgartner, that follows the comedic adventures of a young gay man and his best friend through a night in New York City.

ACHILLES KID OF THE MONTH
In September 2011, KE Plunkett was honored as Achilles International's Kid of The Month.
KE and Kaitlin became friends through the Achilles Kid's Workout program. Partnered up during a summer workout session, they have since remained close supporters of one another's civic efforts.

Cast your vote to make Kaitlin Monte, Miss New York 2011, the next Miss America. The contestant with the most votes will win automatic placement in the top 15 finals which will air January 14th, live on ABC.

MISS AMERICA EVENING GOWN COMPETITION
The Miss America 2012 Top 13 compete in evening gown live on ABC from the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
Kaitlin's gown was from designer Shawn Yearick and provided by Miss New York Organization Gown Sponsor, Regalia Magnificent Apparel.
MISS AMERICA SWIMSUIT PRELIMINARY COMPETITION
The Miss America 2012 contestants compete in Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimwear live at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
Swimwear was provided by Komplique. Kaitlin competed in this phase of competition during the Thursday night preliminaries and was awarded the Lifestyle and Fitness Preliminary Award, a $1,000 fitness scholarship to the highest scoring contestant.
PRELIMINARY WINNER POST-SHOW INTERVIEW
Miss America Organization's Chairman of the Board Sam Haskle asks Miss New York, Kaitlin Monte, about her fitness regime after winning the Preliminary Lifestyle and Fitness Award during the third night of Miss America preliminary competitions. Kaitlin recieved a $1,000 scholarship.
Also honored that night was Miss Hawaii, Lauren Cheape, who took the top score in Talent for her jump rope routine.

Kaitlin is interviewed by Amway about being one of eight women selected as a finalist for the Miss America Quality of Life Scholarship.
The Quality of Life Award is a scholarship based on the impact of a contestants platform on the lives of those within her community. Through her work in schools, with lawmakers and through her own non-profit, Kaitlin was selected for her work in the fight against bullying.
